Expert summary
Surfing is a surface water sport in which the participants are carried along the face of a breaking wave. The participants usually use a surfboard. Wave-riders may make use of anything from kneeboards, body boards, kayaks and surf skis to their own bodies. Paddleboarding and sea kayaking do not require waves. Related sports such as kitesurfing and windsurfing depend primarily on wind for power. But they may also use the various tools used in surfing waves. In tow-in-surfing, a surfer is towed into the wave by a motorized water vehicle like a jetski.Recommended content
